Say hello to Tonks!
Tonks is a 1 year old, 8hh, skewbald, Shetland, Mare who is ready to find her home as a non-ridden companion.
Tonks is looking for a home who has experience with young equines. Tonks is good to handle in most situations and particularly enjoys being groomed.
Tonks is a sweet, affectionate, and lovable mare with a great deal to offer her future foster home.
She thrives on attention and would love a fosterer who can spend plenty of time with her, providing lots of scratches and positive interaction.
Tonks is still very young and continuing to learn, she is a sweet-natured but cheeky mare who enjoys interacting with her handler.
Stabling/Shelter: Tonks lives out 24/7 with access to a field shelter, she enjoys living out, she will stable happily with a friend and forage.
Companionship: Tonks currently lives within a herd of Shetland mares and is comfortable being left alone in the field with access to forage. She can be dominant at times; however, she does not actively seek conflict with her field companions and generally integrates well within the herd.
Forage/Feed: Tonks is currently on 24/7 sparse grazing and is supplemented with a hay/straw mix when needed. She also has stud lite balancer daily.
Farrier: Tonks is barefoot and trimmed ever 6-8weeks.
Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.
Vet + Medication: Vices: Tonks can be wary of needles due to her young age. She has received physiotherapy to help build muscle tone in her hindquarters, as a result of her conformation. To support this, she also participates in in-hand walks twice weekly to further strengthen her muscle development.
