Hugo and Gabriel need to be rehomed together. They will need to be rehomed to a location which is close to one of our four sanctuaries so that ongoing in-person support is available. We have sites at Newton Abbot, Totnes, Yelverton and Holsworthy.
Hugo is very inquisitive and likes to be around people. He can get a little overexcited, especially when groomed, so he will need an experienced handler. He responds well if handled calmly and confidently. He is very active and wants to know everything that’s going on around him.
Gabriel is a kind, honest horse. He is more of a nervous type and would suit a home where it is just him and his companion, Hugo, as he does become anxious when there are lots of horses moving around.
Hugo and Gabriel were found severely underweight and suffering from sores when we rescued them in June 2022. Our Welfare Outreach team worked hard to secure the best outcome for Hugo and Gabriel from start to finish, with assistance from the RSPCA to help us intervene as their welfare situation worsened.
