Spartacus
Spartacus is a bay Dartmoor gelding, he arrived at the rescue too young to be away from his mother, malnourished and riddled with lice and worms. He has since flourished into a very handsome little chap with excellent manners and a lot of love to give. Spartacus is a very easy and confident boy with his regular handlers, he catches, leads, grooms and picks up all his feet nicely. He regularly works with small obstacles and coloured poles in hand and has been very levelheaded and sensible with all. He is still young and would benefit from a confident home who is happy to continue his education. A home with another young gelding would be best suited to him or a home with a family, where he can keep busy and have some fun.
Routine: Spartacus is currently out 24/7, he is happy to be stabled over night when needed. He is currently wearing a lightweight rug through Winter.
Friends: He is currently out with other young geldings but has also been herd friends with mares and older horses, he’s playful in the field but very respectful and will happily share hay with his friends.
Feeding Requirements: Spartacus is not on any hard food currently, but does have free access to vitamins and minerals. He has access to adlib forage 24/7 in winter and grazing in the Summer. He has not had his diet restricted due to being a young equine but will need a home happy to manage his weight when he is fully grown.
Medical/Vet: Spartacus is good for the vet and is up to date with vaccinations including Flu, Tetanus and Strangles.
Farrier: Spartacus is good for the farrier, he is trimmed every 6-8 weeks as required.
Dentist: Spartacus has had his teeth checked but has not yet had them rasped due to his age.
Vices: N/A
