We are currently recruiting for full-time Equine Welfare Assistants

Who are Bransby Horses?
Founded in 1968 by Peter Hunt, whose lifelong passion for horse welfare continues through our people and their shared vision of, a world where every equine has a life worth living. Over 50 years later, we are one of the largest equine welfare charities in the UK and our mission, now more than ever, is to positively impact the lives of horses, ponies, donkeys and mules in the UK.

What does the role of an Equine Welfare Assistant entail?
We currently have more than three hundred equines, across two sites, so we need more dedicated individuals who can handle our horses with care and compassion and help us deliver a high standard of care, getting our horses back on their hooves. As part of a small friendly team working on one of our seven specialist yards, you will get to see first-hand the significant difference that can be made to horses in need, making Bransby Horses is such an incredibly rewarding place to work.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate should;

• have a level 2 qualification in equine studies
• at least 1 year previous experience of working with equines
• good communication skills and works well as part of a team
• knowledge of equine care and handling
• good level of fitness; this role is physically demanding and predominantly based outside, in all weathers

The salary ranges from the national minimum wage up to £20,000 per annum, starting salary is dependent upon the skills and experience demonstrated at interview. The weekly hours are sociable, working 37.5 hours per week, from 8 am - 4.30 pm and only working every other weekend.
