Say hello to Daisy!
Daisy is a 17 year old, 14.3hh, skewbald, Cob, mare who is ready to find her home as a non-ridden companion.

Daisy’s perfect match would be a home that has plenty of time to give her all the love in the world. Daisy enjoys a laid back life, where she can fall asleep during a relaxing groom. She loves going on in-hand walks and behaves well in new situations.

Daisy is a very sweet mare with a gentle nature, and is always genuinely happy to see her favourite people. She will greet you in the field with pricked ears and ask politely for a cuddle. She is good to do in every way, but can be a little nervous with having her feet handled. With a gentle approach, she relaxes and is receptive to foot handling. Daisy is good to do everything with but requires a confident, quiet handler as she gains her confidence from her handler.

Stabling/shelter: Daisy currently lives out 24/7 with access to shelter. She enjoys coming into the stable for a pamper. Daisy requires restricted grazing to appropriately manage her weight and reduce the risk of laminitis

Companionship: Daisy prefers to live with other equines of a similar age and temperament to hers.

Farrier: Daisy has previously worn shoes to help with her laminitis, she was incredibly nervous when having shoes nailed on but reached a point where she would stand for this. She now does not require shoes and is trimmed on a regular 6 week cycle, she stands well for a trim.

Dentist: Sedated as standard Bransby Horses procedure.

Vet: Daisy arrived at Bransby Horses with laminitis, so she is managed in order to prevent this reoccurring.

Forage/Feed: Daisy does not receive a hard feed in the warmer months, but in winter she receives a fibre feed to ensure she remains at a good weight. Daisy can occasionally cough when receiving standard forage, this is managed by soaking her hay and having as much turnout as possible.
